It's "Hothouse" by Brian W. Aldiss. I have > it in an anthology that I got ~15 years ago from the SF Book > club called "Mutants". It's a marvelous story! Well, you can also look for the NOVEL version, "The Long Afternoon of Earth", which is probably what the original requester wanted. Quite a bit happens in this story -- it's fun to re-read occasionally. It gets a bit "strange" in places, but I like it. /dave Digital Equipment Corp. 110 Spitbrook Road Nashua NH 03062 orac::butenhof butenhof%orac.DEC@decwrl.ARPA {allegra,shasta,decvax}!decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-orac!butenhof Any resemblance between the opinions expressed in this article and any actual opinions, living or dead, is strictly coincidental and in no way binding upon either myself nor upon Digital Equipment Corporation.
