I am looking for information about an IBM-PC clone called the Solaris 1000, manufactured by a company once called Faraday, in California. This machines physically looks like a Tower-style IBM-PC clone, and functions somewhat like an XT, but has some extra stuff: In addition to the normal PC/XT bus, it has a second bus, 8086 (I think) processor, and a circuit that connects the normal bus to this custom bus. If the connection is taken out, the normal side acts virtually identically to an XT. On the normal side, it has some normal connectors: Printer, Serial 1, Serial 2, and Keyboard. It accepts normal display cards and acts normally. On the weird side, it has more connectors: Terminal, Host, and Keypad. Does anyone have one of these, know anything about them (like what they were originally designed for), or know the address or phone number for Solaris, or Faraday, or whoever made them? Any info would be appreciated. Please respond via email to olson@endor.harvard.edu (no one else could possibly care!). Thanks! -Eric -- Eric K.
