I am looking for a way to read Sun QIC150 150 MB tapes on a Macintosh. I am not concerned about writting to the drive, altough it certainly would be nice. I would prefer to do this under mulit/finder, but if A/UX is the only solution than I will take it. Any pointers to Hardware manufactuers, or any other tips are greatly appreciated. A/UX (unofficially) supports Viper and Archive drives so might work with Sun QIC150 tapes. Under MacOS you need software to read the tapes. I don't know of any software that reads straight from tape drives without expecting it to be in some special archive format but such software probably exists. The easiest way is to network your Mac to a Sun or other UNIX machine that uses the QIC150 format. Tony Cooper sramtrc@albert.dsir.govt.nz
