Just heard on the radio (KINK FM in Portland, Ore) that, according to a study done at a Rhode Island university, Oregon is rated first in the nation for equity for women. This is based on the present laws, employment histories and social attitudes of each state. The funny thing is that the study rates Oregon as only 65% parity for women, its just that all the other states are worse (eg: Michigan is second with a 55% parity). I was going to say "maybe that's why my sister lives there" but
given her level of political activity I could just as plausibly
say "maybe that's BECAUSE my sister lives there".
