bllklly@uwmacc.UUCP (Bill Kelly) (10/06/84)
Ok, folks. The postings seem to have stopped, so we can finally settle the
burning issue of what title has been reused by the most different artists.
I will repost if there are enough corrections. I'm including here only
titles that had 3 or more entries.
The leader at this point is Gloria with 11 different artists. However, it
was my intention only to include completely different songs coincidentally
having the same title. I'm sure several of the submissions are different
arrangements of the classic G-L-O-R-I-A version. There are 7 Heartbreakers
(plus the Stone's Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker), which is sort of
cheating), and 7 Lady's.
So if you have last minute additions, or if I missed your posting, please
mail me. Likewise let me know if you can confirm or deny any of the items
marked with a question, especially on the question of different
arrangements of the same song -- to qualify, the songs should be entirely
different, written by different authors, etc.
