[soc.net-people] Looking for info on GEONET and academic nets in general

I'm looking for information about a network called GEONET.  It is supposedly
run by the United Nations for linking up international agencies.  I'm
particularly interested in  access from the U.S.

Also, does anyone know where I can find the guide to networks written
by John Quarterman of UT-SALLY?
