I was a member of the governing body in a church that was considering leasing space to an MCC church in the Denver area. After a long hearing, some heavy political maneuvering, and some major insights, the motion was two votes short of the unanimous vote required. The two no votes were by parents of one or two gays. Shortly after that vote, monogamous gay couples were ordained. One became a member of the governing body. Several preached sermons (very good ones too). That churches view was basicly that the same advice and value system that applied to heterosexual couples should apply to homosexual couples. Mainly that "divorce" was acceptable, but that indescriminate sex was not healthy, spiritually, physically, or emotionally. This position has not been formally adopted by the Presbyterian church as a whole, but many churches do follow those guidelines.
