Source: GOS of AIR ( Hindi: Krishna Kumar Bhargav, English: Purnima Sharma ) 4:30am Monday News was interrupted with the following right after the headlines In the southern state of A.P, the four naxalites whose release was demanded by the kidnappers of the Cong(I) MLA Mr.Sudhir Kumar were freed yesterday at Bramhanapally village in Medak dist. According to police the four naxalites were flown to Hyderbad from Vishakapattanam where they were kept under detention. From Hyderabad, they were taken to Bramhanapally village by road. Efforts are underway to secure the release of the Kidnapped Con(I) MLA Mr.P.Sudhir Kumar and the Assistant collector of Gadhwal Mr.Giridhar. (isnt this case similar to Dr.Rubiya's kidnapping, daughter of the erstwhile Union home minister Mr.Mufti Mohd Sayeed in the Kashmir valley) The union home secretary had sent a letter to the chief election commissioner outling the law and order situation in the eastern state of Bihar. This was in reply to the original request made by the CE. The deputy election comm Mr.R.P.Bhalla told newsmen that the commission's assessment of the Bihar scene is continuing and there is no change in the poll schedule as of now. The Bihar govt has requested the center for additional paramilitary troops for the smooth conduct of polls. The PM Mr.CS has said that the center does not have any intentions of toppling the Bihar govt. He said his govt has only asked the EC to ensure free and fair polls in the state. Meanwhile the EC is considering the request of the Punjab govt for a fresh poll schedule for the five constituencies where election has been countermanded. The deputy EC has said the state govt has suggested some dates but declined to give details. Polling in Punjab has been countermanded in five assembly constituencies and for the Ludhiana Parliamentary seat. In the western state of Gujrat, the state govt has directed the dep IGP to hold and inquiry in to the incident in which three persons including two policemen were killed by militants in Baroda dist on Saturday. Police vigilance has been intensified in Saurashtra to prevent infiltration of militants from Pakistan. India has offered to B.Desh substantial quantity of rice and expertise in the re-construction of roads, railways and communications networks in that country. The offer was made by the PM during his talks in Dhaka with the B.Desh acting president Mr.Shababuddhin and the PM Begum Khalida Zia. He offered India's sympathy and full support to the people of Bangla Desh in the hour of distress. The B.Desh leaders briefed the PM about the extensive damage caused by the cyclone and said it was very hearful of Mr.CS to visit Dhaka in the midst of elections. Later talking to newsmen Mr.CS said India will offer 10,000 tonnes of rice as an assistance to cyclone victims. In the eastern state of Assam, the air force has joined the relief operations in the flood hit areas of Barat valley. The Army has already swung in to action since Saturday. In the NE state of A.P, there has been some improvement in flood situation. 13 killed in Dehradun dist: In U.P, 13 persons were killed and 36 seriously injured in a bus accident. The mishap occured in Dehradun dist on Sunday. Finally, the PM Mr.CS has cautioned Pakistan that India will not tolerate any transgression in to its territory. Talking to newsmen on his way to Dhaka, Mr.CS said such misadventure only serve to spoil the relations, increase the tension and viciate the atmosphere. He said the handling of recent attempted intrusion by Pak trained militants in J&K proves the preparedness of our armed forces.
