[talk.bizarre] A Sane Man Gets Hauled Away

gts@axiom.UUCP (Guy Schafer) (09/11/86)

I am posting from the account of "A Sane Man."
Don't expect to see any more Sane Man postings.

Seems that last fall his lover's husband went insane and ended up in
a mental hospital. After many tests, it was determined that he had
received long-term low-level exposure to mercury. More testing revealed
that the goats he owned were giving mercury-tainted milk. Why wasn't
the rest of the household affected? ASM's lover was secretly mixing up
powdered milk and keeping the two supplies very carefully separate and
unobvious. But guess who was putting the mercury into the goat feed?

It took almost a year for the story to come out. You could tell it was
pretty much 'out' when the FBI surrounded our office and stormed in
with guns drawn. "...Attempted murder...right to remain silent...,"
handcuffs, fading sirens, and then an awkward silence during which we all
stared at each other trying to figure out if it had really happened or not.

Well, I guess it did 'cause I just saw the "Sane Man" and his lover on
the eleven o'clock news last night. He was taken back to New Hampshire--
the scene of the crime--which explains the FBI.

Personally, I think he's guilty--guilty as hell.

Not too sane... Murder is a state crime, not federal.
