[talk.bizarre] A Sane Man Explains How To Rob A Bank.

gts@axiom.UUCP (Guy Schafer) (09/23/86)

How to rob a bank:

Steal the out of state plates of an abandonned car. Put them in your trunk.

Pick some dry but cold moonless night. Wax your car with lots of blue poly
acrylic polish. Paint it with a spray can filled with water soluble paint
in a completely different color. A rough job is good enough.

Switch plates and drive to an atm--be sure it is one with a video camera that
faces the street or parking lot but doesn't face the entrance to the building.
(As an example, just an example mind you, take for instance, the BayBanks
booth in the parking lot of caldor's on western avenue in Brighton.)

Park in its 'line of vision' with the front plate showing but at such an angle
that the driver's door is obscured. Get out and walk a wide circle so you
don't get picked up on camera. Make sure, of course, that no one is around.
(You can pretty much assure this by waiting til 3am.)

Enter the building keeping out of 'sight.' Keep well to the side of the
machine, insert your card and perform the following set of procedures:

Throw as much of the money as you can carry into the car, drive to a self-
service carwash (say, the 24 hour Scrub-A-Dub on Market Street--about 1
mile from the ATM) and remove the bogus paint job. Switch plates and
throw the old plate in the trunk.

Thoroughly clean the old plates and throw them into the Charles from the
bridge on the end of North Beacon Street.

Of course, this is all hyothetical and in no way do I condone using any of
the above information to engage in fraud which is a felony.
