Looking around at the postures and general attitudes of various BMW owners, I've noticed certain patterns. Not ALL BMW owners fall into these catagories, but it seems to work about 50% of the time. Especially around Brentwood, CA (pretentious neighborhood in Los Angeles). And for those who may have remembered my previous post to Eric Madding with my address, no I don't live in Brentwood, anymore. Anyways, upon mentioning that a car is a BMW, the BMW owner will say the following depending upon what model car the owner has: 3XX Series: (In a high pitched, excited voice): "Yeah, it's a BMW!!!!!" 5XX Series: (Moderate tone, dispassionate): "Oh, yeah. So it's a BMW." 6XX and 7XX Series: (In a confident, condescending tone): "Of course it's a BMW." -MikeP [ flame away, you bimmer owners, you. ]

:-) :-) I believe that the 50% category is comprised of those who lease BMW's or make monthly installment payments! I purchased a new BMW in 1985 simply because I like the automobile and to pamper myself while commuting. I enjoy driving it as much (even more) than when I first bought it. I belong to the BMW CCA and the membership could care less about the model #! As long as the BMW logo is on the hood, you are one of the gang! For $30.00 a year, the membership fees are worth every penny. Neighbors and people I work with *STILL* make comments about it, even though it is 3 years old! If they knew I had the pinkslip in my safety deposit box at the bank from day #1 they'd be shocked! I think they are all waiting for it to be repossessed or something! :-) :-) Guess I better buy a car with TURBO, 4WD, EFI, LS, SOL or SOB stencilled on the fenders and trunk in tacky grey paint ala DEEtroit or Yapan! Next time you run into a 3XX, 5XX, or 7XX ask if it leased or financed! Like ZZZZZZZBest folks!
