Somebody recently mentioned S. F. Sorrow by The Pretty Things. I don't know whether or not it is a rock opera, but it is an album where all the songs are related. It is the story of the life of a man named S. F. Sorrow. I guess before this album there wern't any albums with a theme, just a collection of songs. The album came out in 1968 on Rare Earth Records in the U.S. It is a good album, but sounds dated. It is from the phsycledelic era which is probably why.
