[net.sf-lovers] The Number of the Beast - Sir Isaac Newton

The character Sir Isaac Newton (I think Heinlein may have warped the
spelling a little) is from a really old Heinlein novel, Red Planet.
In this, a young man takes a voyage to Mars and goes through all kinds
of adventures, and he meets a 6-foot tall walking, talking lizard, who
becomes his mentor. It seems the boy has a ring his father gave him which
holds some kind of key to the Martian colony rebellion against THE STATE.
The lizard's name was Sir Isaac Newton (incidentally, if anyone here reads
BOY's LIFE, the scouting mag, they did a cartoon adaptation of the novel
about three years ago.)

credit: but if anyone takes offense, I was probably drunk at the time...)

Judging by the number of replies, I'd guess that Sir Isaac Newton was a
character in _Mindkiller_ by Spider Robinson. :-)

In other words, I hope this flood of replies ('though the answer is welcome)
dwindles soon...
