[talk.religion.misc] Call for votes -- soc.religion.islam

gwydion@tavi.rice.edu (Basalat Ali Raja) (10/12/89)

This is a call for votes for/against the creation of the newsgroup
soc.religion.islam.

The discussion period for the newsgroup seems to have ended, so I
an now calling for a vote.

To recap, the proposed newsgroup will be moderated by three people:

	[a] Naim Abdullah [naim@eecs.nwu.edu]
	[b] Behnam Sadeghi [oxy!sadeghi@csvax.caltech.edu]
	[c] Shari VanderSpek [shari@wpi.edu, shari@wpi.bitnet]

The intended newsgroup is expected to cover topics relating to the
religion of Islam sans flamage, mideastern politics and personal
attacks.

Whichever is way that you want to vote, please indicate this clearly
in your letter. A call for the creation of an unmoderated newsgroup
was defeated earlier this year, so please don't write long essays on
why you would vote in favour of the proposed newsgroup if only it
was unmoderated.

I will acknowledge all received votes somewhere during the weekend
of the week that they were sent.

If you have trouble getting mail to me at this address (viz.
govannon@tavi.rice.edu), please try

	ts1503@ohstvma.ircc.ohio-state.edu (INTERNET)
	ts1503@ohstvma (BITNET)

If that does not result in an acknowledgement from myself, please try
to contact one of the moderaters, and I will try to set up a mail
path to your node.

The voting period will extend until Nov 1, 1989.
Votes received after this date will be discountend.

Thanks,
Basalat Ali Raja.
