The first phase of the Usenet newsgroup reorganization has been completed. Other than net.sources (whose fate has not yet been determined) all net.* newsgroups have been renamed into one of the seven new groups. If your site isn't getting any news from one or more categories, check upstream to see if your neighbors are getting news; when you find someone that is getting everything, look at the links nearby to determine where the problem is. The double-normal volume in early December shows that the bulk of the net is receiving news OK. The direction the moderated groups will take is not yet determined; we expect to try some experimental moderated groups whose name does not contain "mod" soon. You may wish to save this message, as it is useful when looking for the new name of your favorite group.
