- - FOURTH WORKSHOP ON REAL-TIME OPERATING SYSTEMS July 2-3, 1987 Cambridge, Massachusetts Sponsored by The IEEE Computer Society The workshop will bring together researchers, designers, and implementors of real-time operating systems. Topics of specific interest include * Primary requirements of real-time systems. * Types of real-time constraints and needed operating systems support. * Scheduling and resource management. * Distributed real-time operating systems. * Reliability and Fault tolerance. * Predictability, adaptability, and maintainability. * Issues in developing next generation real-time operating systems. * Application-specific operating systems. * Case studies. * Instrumentation and performance measurement. * Programming support. The format of the workshop will be geared to encourage intense technical interactions and focussed discussions. Attendance will hence be limited to between 50 and 75 active workers in the field. To participate in the workshop please submit an extended abstract or a position paper (of upto 5 pages) describing your current efforts to the Program Chairman by April 15, 1987. Complete details regarding the workshop will be sent to all participants along with the acceptance letters by May 15, 1987. A digest of accepted abstracts will be made available to participants at the workshop.
