Please don't tempt IED into another Dreaming vs. Hounds of Love debate!!! We've already been through this several months ago. Heck, I'll even suggest a bunch of new topics so we can flame each other to crisps: Instead of "Which is better, The Dreaming or Hounds of Love?" try... 1) Which is more industrial, Throbbing Gristle or Einsturzende Neubauten? 2) Which is more satanic, Diamanda Galas or Current 93? 3) Which is more psychedelic, Fuzztones or Dukes of the Stratosphere? 4) Which is more drug-damaged, Butthole Surfers or Scratch Acid? 5) Which is harder on the guitars, Sonic Youth or Swans? 6) Which is more "classical", Laibach or Univers Zero? 7) Which is more wimpy, Wimpy Houston or Lionel Wimpie? 8) Which is more slutty, Madonna or Cyndi Lauper? 9) Which is more abrasive, Jim Hofmann or Tim Wicinski? :-) And finally, courtesy of Timbo's favorite soldout performance artist: 10) Which is more macho, the pineapple or the knife? I can safely say that IED feels that Kate shreds his face AND cums in his mouth....how about that. now to put your dreams to rest... 1) Throbbing Gristle on track 1 and E.N. on track 2 2) Coven - a metal band from a while ago - they put a black mass out on record. too much for me 3) Fuzztones 4) Butthole Surfers - Scratch Acid is like Led Zep. Fact: Did you know when I put my records away, Kate's "Hounds of Love" sits right in front of The Butthole's "Cream Corn" ep. Kinda says it all, doesn't it ?? Fact: check out Scratch Acid in Spin, which has some wavo southern band on the cover this month. I have no records by them. 5) Sonic Youth 6) Japenese Hardcore, without a doubt 7) Dougbo, for whining like a penis brain about his latest sex bitch in heat, Laurie Anderson. 8) Kate.... Cindy whines and Madonna's married. 9) Hofmann, no question. you all don't have to see his ugly face show after show....enough to make a man turn to drinking... 10) An Uzi machine gun AND japenese hardcore AND a 4-wheel drive truck AND a rifle rack... Now that's that done, we can continue with Greg Earle's attack against wavos (including himself), and IED's attack against all think great, small, and non-bushian. I guess someone has to do it.. wank

Never heard Current 93, but I'd like to take this oportunity to say that Diamanda Galas sounds like what Kate Bush would sound like if she were the Anti-Christ. Buy an album of hers, or Jesus will come and take you to a land where all is merry and good and nobody ever talks to loud and the shuffle board courts are always kept in good shape. 3) Which is more psychedelic, Fuzztones or Dukes of the Stratosphere? I dunno. 4) Which is more drug-damaged, Butthole Surfers or Scratch Acid? No one is more drug damaged that the Butthole Surfers. Except Wickinski. 5) Which is harder on the guitars, Sonic Youth or Swans? Well, when I saw Sonic Youth, the guitarist broke the head off his guitar, so I gotta vote for them. The Swans did a good job on their bass, but only managed to break a string. Sonic Youth look like a bunch of nurdly high school kids making this incredible racket, though, while The Swans were scarier than *The Alien*.... The Swans are definitely harder on the nerves. 6) Which is more "classical", Laibach or Univers Zero? Classic Coke. 7) Which is more wimpy, Wimpy Houston or Lionel Wimpie? Lionel Wimpie, but lets not quible over minor details. 8) Which is more slutty, Madonna or Cyndi Lauper? Madonna. Cyndi Lauper actually has a sense of humor. Diamanda Galas -- she's even satanic-seeming in person. My sister
introduced me to her when they were both still music students at
UCSD. I was pretty young and definitely not used to pure evil at
the time, and so I shrivelled into nothing. I later wondered how
men went about asking her out on a "date". I then found out that she
was lesbian and was much releived. And no, i didn't try or anything,
it's just that she seemed like such a formidable but inviting beautiful
but hideous sort of creature.
.... And then I saw her perform..... As far as pure unadulterated evil,
she's even worse (better?) than siouxsie sioux of banshees fame. My dog
could be more evil than current 93 and I don't even have a dog.
