Uh, I'm probably the least knowledgable about hardcore/speed metal among this readership; but I like a very few hardcore bands I've heard (Gray Matter, Fear, and local IllNoise) and submit this question: What is the best hardcore album (hopefully available)? You're of course free to support your answer with whatever assumptions you like, but I'd most be interested in hardcore which exhibits: 1. reasonably good production 2. great playing 3. optionally, cool lyrics. Thanks, --John P.S. Gray Matter's new EP is solid, overall better than their previous (which I bought for their creat cover of "I Am the Walrus"). I like Fear for its arrangements, use of odd time sigs. IllNoise is hardcore/metal with Henrdix influences, tasty guitar solos.

What is the best hardcore album (hopefully available)? Black Flag's "Damaged" or "My War" Were you talking about FEAR's "The Record" or "More Beer"? Cats, don't you just dig those bongos on the new lp? Douglas
