Really-From: smeagol!earle (Greg Earle) Oh, OK ... How about They came, I saw, they conquered ... Who? Why, Severed Heads and Skinny Puppy, of course. Last Night. Here. The most intense 2 1/2 hours I have experienced in memory. I'm sorry. Those of you with your little musical pigeonholes ("Death rock", "Only liked by art-damaged neopunks and industrial music frogheads" "Synth crap", "Skinny Yuppie" etc.), your cheap excuses ("I didn't want to cough up a measly $10 even though I work a full time job", "It's finals week coming up", "It's a weeknight, I gotta work", etc.) can just blow it out your anal retentive orifices; these people are the REAL THING, Intensity with a fucking capital I. Here we are mired in 1974 revisited, and along come a bunch of people who are what 1986 is fucking all about. Possibly the Brain Cookies show of all time. I was stunned speechless for 30 minutes after it ended. My mouth would not open. Accept no substitutes. You have been warned. San Francisco, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did ... Still reeling, Greg P.S. local shit for stay at home L.A. ites: Nichtophobia Mark II this Saturday (Dec. 13th), with ANGEL OF THE ODD and FOUR WAY CROSS headlining (sorry, ShIrI, $178 round trip from S.F. via PSA). Hong Kong Cafe, Chinatown. 943 N. Broadway or thereabouts. (And the funny thing is, I can't even get myself psyched up for my own club, after last night.)
