Really-From: reeves@CS.UCLA.EDU "Most intense 2 1/2 hours in memory" Phffft! Yah, I was at the Skinny Puppy/Severed Heads show, and I saw Greg Earle there. But I am having a _tres_ hard time believing that angybondy could get caught up in that shit. Severed Heads: Invite two friends over. Put on your Howard Jones reccid. Have one guy yell in your ear, while the other one plays with the tint control on the TV. Doug called this one pretty damn well. Skinny Puupy: More problematic, cause there were times when they did some interesting stuff. Mostly synth-wimp=disco bullshit. Not evokative, not atmospheric, just bland. And the stunts! High-school level pretension. The mime was embarassingly bad. Oh yeah, the blood bag in the hamburger musta kept 'em up all night thinking how deep they were. The mud on the face was OK for a few, and the sander and closing jam (maaannn) almost rescued them from being totally pathetic. FACTORY IS MUCH BETTER AT THIS STUFF. SEE THEM INSTEAD. reeves out
