Really-From: Lippard@MULTICS.MIT.EDU > Really-From: Ed Simpson <dukecdu!evs%duke.csnet@RELAY.CS.NET> > When I saw the spelling of the German phrase in the Ninth Wave here in > gaffa it didn't look quite right to me. A friend listened to the album > for me and translated the following: > ~ ~ > Tiefer, tiefer, ergrund[en,st?] fur nach tiefer. Hinter ist ein Licht. > Deeper, deeper, sound (dive) still deeper. Behind is a light. No way. The last five words are definitely "Tiefe gibt es ein Licht". "Ergruenden" (get to the bottom of, investigate) and "fuer nach" are definitely not there. It's something very close to: Tiefer, tiefer. Irgendwo in der Tiefe gibt es ein Licht. Deeper, deeper. Somewhere in the depth there is a light. The "der" is wrong, it sounds like "na" on the album.
