William Burroughs has an orgone generator in his basement. Anyway that's what he called it in Burroughs --- the movie. Most of your counter culture idols from the '50s who don't do much now appear in the movie looking unbelievably respectable (Ginsberg, Giorno, Byron Gysin, etc.) so check it out at your local video store. If you're into long, slow videos, check out A Long Slow Screw (or some such) by the Swans. (Actually it's not that long.) But it's SLOW. And it's some of the most extreme performances you'll ever see (believe me.) Gira looks like he's thrashing about in his death throes, bawling his lyrics with the mike held in his mouth. There's a neat section with shots of Gira and Jarboe playing with their bodies. Otherwise it's continuous pain and agony. I was totally exhausted about 20 minutes into it, but couldn't look away. Bill
