Really-From: mats@forbrk.UUCP (Mats Wichmann) It was only recently (well, about a year ago) that I sat up and took notice of Kate - when I started hearing things from Hounds. I have gradually worked back, and last night was the first time I sat down and really carefully listened to The Kick Inside (remodeling a house tends to leave very little time for really sitting and *listening*). It grew on me that for some reason, that record reminded me of City Boy. That's not the first time like that has happened - every now and then I hear a piece of music and something goes "click: this reminds me of City Boy" (e.g., there is some stuff that Queen did that did this to me). It set me to wondering - I have never seen anything in print about this group, and nobody I know has ever heard of them. I haven't seen any material from them in ages (disbanded, I presume?) but I still go back and listen to the six albums I have over and over - only other stuff that I go back to like that is the old Genesis work. I really like these guys - so what gives? Does anybody know anything about them? Why didn't they become bigger successes? What are they (messrs. Mason, Broughton, et al) doing now? And does she still hear that violin? Mats Wichmann
