Really-From: John Kitamura <ames!seismo!utcsri!kato@cad.Berkeley.EDU> In regards to Peter Hammill: I also enjoy Hammill as an artist. He comes to Toronto once every couple of years and does a one man show - him and a electric piano or acoustic guitar - and plays two or three lengthy sets. On his previous show, he included as an encore "Flight" in its full 24 minute splendour, and on the last show he took requests. (Someone requested "Chicago" from Fripp's Exposure, but Hammill said he didn't know the piano part. He also said that David Jackson has become a music teacher in Britain.) Since Sitting Targets, he has released "Love Songs" which is a collection of previously released songs re-recorded, "The Margin" which is a double live album, "Skin" a commercial up-beat release, and his last release (I can't remember the name) which is more experimental. Also an album of VanDerGraaf outtakes (Time Vaults) and an album of tape loop experiments (Loops and Reels) were released by an independent label. On Fripp's Exposure, Hammill sings on "Disengaged" (there are two versions of this song out with slightly different vocals), "Chicago" and "I May Not Have Had Enough of Me But I've Had Enough of You" with Terre Roche. Future projects include an opera (written with Chris Judge Smith). For details contact him at his Sofa Sound address. John Kitamura UUCP: {decvax,linus,ihnp4,uw-beaver,allegra,utzoo}!utcsri!kato
