Really-From: rosen@ucbarpa.Berkeley.EDU (Rob Rosen) I watched the Grammies last week. "Why would you do such a stupid thing?" you ask. The answer: I was curious whether Peter Gabriel would show up, and if he did, how he would deal with winning an award (which I thought would happen, given that he was nominated in four different categories). As many of you know, he did indeed show up, although I would offer the opinion that he didn't seem to be too happy with the situation (repeated up-close shots of him showed him with his bowtie undone and a seemingly bored/ apprehensive/disgusted expression on his face). The Beastie Boys giving Robert Palmer a Grammy was a stroke of genius. That and the Billy Idol number with his own ``groupies'' dancing around near the stage in supposed awe of his presence reminded me that someone organising that show MUST have a sense of humour.
