Several new and old releases worth checking out:

NEW: Ultra's "Youthful Pleasures"
A conceptual noise sound collage type thing in the Nurse With Wound style
(i.e. good!), but darker and much scarrier. The first cut is the strongest
and is unique, nasty, innovative--called "Sport F*cking with Traci Lords".
This has found (probably) vocal passages from a porn flick and very weird
vocal stuff added by Ultra. The rest of the album is more abstract.

OLD: The Beast - "Has Arrived"
Strong punk metal, fun songs, and an album cover only a mother could love.

OLD: Appliances - "SFB"
Strong post punk in various styles including some white reggae, a tad of
funk, and other things I can't remember at the moment; but most
  importantly, very strong playing.

NEW: Swans - "Real Love"
Limited release (I have #346, what's *yours*) Swans. Slow and nasty of
course. Besides a few minor electronic problems during the performance
(some speaker wobbles in and out), the recording is very good. High price
  means Swans fans only!

OLD: Factrix - "Scheintot"
Soft, nasty, innovative with *nasty* *nasty* lyrics. Depressing. Weird.

So, do you think any of those Heavy Metal types on music.misc will buy
Sonic Youth? Heh, heh.
