As far as EIES-2 goes, I have not seen any published material on it thus
far. However, Dr. Turoff has published some papers in the past year. I'll
present a bibliography of some EIES and Computer Conferencing papers authored
by Dr. Turoff and his colleagues at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
There are many more, but these are some of the more recent ones and some of
the major works as well:

 1. IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication
      March 1986 Volume PC-29 Number 1
      Special Issue on Computer Conferencing

The following papers are from the NJIT community:

      Levinson, Paul, "Teleconnections", pp 8
"Marshall McLuhan and Computer Conferencing", pp 9-11.

      Kerr, Elaine B.
"Electronic Leadership: A Guide to Moderating Online Conferences"
      pp 12-18.

 2. Meeks, Brock N. "An Overview of Conferencing Systems" BYTE
      December 1985 Vol. 10 No.13 pp 169-184.
(Mr. Meeks is an author and frequent EIES user)

 3. Turoff, Murray "Information, Value, and the Internal Marketplace"
Technological Forecasting and Social Change, 27 (1985) pp 357-373.

 4. Turoff, Murray, and Chinai, Sanjit "An Electronic Information Marketplace"
Computer Networks and ISDN Systems, 9 (1985), pp 79-90.

 5. Hiltz, Starr Roxanne, and Turoff, Murray, "Structuring Computer-Mediated
Communication Systems to Avoid Information Overload", Communications of
      the ACM, July 1985, Volume 28 Number 7, p 680-689.

 6. Mills, Miriam K. "Teleconferencing - Managing the 'Invisible Worker'"
Sloan Management Review, Summer 1984, pp 63-67.
(Dr. Mills was with the Dept of Organizational and Social Sciences at
       NJIT)

 7. Hiltz, Starr Roxanne, and Turoff, Murray, "The Evolution of User Behavior
in a Computerized Conferencing System", Communications of the ACM
      November 1981 Volume 24 Number 11, pp 739-751.

 8. Hiltz, Starr Roxanne, "The Human Elements in Computerized Conferencing
      Systems" Computer Networks, 2 (1978) pp 421-428.

 9. Hiltz, Starr Roxanne, "Impact of a Computerized Conferencing System
Upon Scientific Research Specialties", Journal of Research Communication
      Studies, 1 (1978), pp 111-124.

10. Hiltz, Starr Roxanne, "Computer Conferencing: Assessing the Social Impact
of a New Communications Medium", Technological Forecasting and Social
      Change, 10 (1977), pp 225-238.

11. Turoff, Murray "An On-Line Intellectual Community or "MEMEX" Revisited"
Technological Forecasting and Social Change, 10 (1977), pp 401-412.

12. Turoff, Murray, and Hiltz, Starr Roxanne "Meeting Through Your Computer"
IEEE Spectrum, May 1977, pp 58-64.

13. Turoff, Murray, Whitescarver, James, and Hiltz, Starr Roxanne
"The Human Machine Interface in a Computerized Conferencing
Environment", IEEE Proceedings on Systems, Man and Cybernetics Annual
      Conference, September 1977, pp 145-157.

In addition, there are two other books which Dr Turoff and other
colleagues at NJIT have been involved with:

"The Delphi Method, Techniques and Applications"
Edited by Harold A. Linstone and Murray Turoff
     Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, 1975

"Computer-Mediated Communications Systems, Status and Evaluation"
Elaine B. Kerr and Starr Roxanne Hiltz
     Academic Press, 1982

Also both Dr. Turoff and Dr. Hiltz wrote articles in the
following book:

     "Emerging Office Systems"
based on Proceedings of the Stanford University
     International Symposium on Office Automation
Edited by Robert M. Landau, James H. Bair and Jean H. Siegman
     Ablex Publishing Corporation, Norwood NJ

And finally, the EIES-2 development staff utilizes among a variety of
hardware a 3b5 running System V UNIX called argus. This machine is connected
to the net via a feed from the bellcore machine (I think). Anyway if you are
interested in contacting some of the people there, you can send mail to some
of the following individuals:

   Kenneth Ng ..!bellcore!argus!ken
   Marty Lyons ..!bellcore!argus!marty
   Kevin Walsh ..!bellcore!argus!kevin
   Ron DeBlock ..!bellcore!argus!ron
   Bob Michie ..!bellcore!argus!bob

If you are interested in contacting Dr. Turoff directly, you can send him
mail at the following address:
