I apologize for the massive lapse in postings to this group, but I was away for two weeks in Washington D.C. and Boston and when I came back I found that my system had died rather horribly. Among the things I lost was the mailing list for the Computers and Society Digest and the software for posting articles to the net. (backups? that's another story for another time) I've finally gotten around to rewriting the posting software, with some improvements (the articles will be *from* the person who wrote it, rather than me, and the references will be more reliable), but it'll still be a week or so before I begin posting to this group again - I'm waiting until I have a significant percentage of my list reconstructed, so about Friday or so this group will again be the fascinating mental and philosophical watering hole for the erudite of the net.
