I have tried to compile emacs 3.7 with the Manx 3.2a compiler. It compiles fine and links. However, when I try to run a few strange things happen. 1) on both 1.1 and 1.2, using the DOS commands calling Execute will produce software errors randomly. I have made sure that only longs are used and it works sometimes, and then just fails. Cannot reproduce on the Lattice compiled emacs. Is there a problem with the Manx Execute library function? 2) If a buffer gets modified, than on exiting you are queried as to whether you really wish to leave. After answering no, a ^X^S will just hang. It appears that emacs will has exited, leaving the screen there and the users mouth open. This does not happen with the Lattice version. Anyone have any ideas (perhaps a 32 bit incompatability somewhere) 3) Trying to compile with the +L option doesn't seem to work, because the preprocessor complains that the target of #if's are not integers, so it appears that this switch is doing something I'm not aware of. Would appreciate any comments you might have (perhaps will work under 3.4?). John G. Ata
