[mod.computers.masscomp] need info on async i/o on sockets

masscomp@soma.UUCP (Stan Barber, Moderator) (06/06/86)

Does anybody know if Masscomp supports asyncronous I/O for sockets? If
they do, could somebody please mail me a program fragment (or possibly
post for the rest of the group? In particular, we are trying to do an
ioctl() with FIOASYNC. We keep getting a 0 for the number of async requests
that are allowed. Help please...

In article <880@soma.UUCP> you write:

Mike,
Do let us know what you find out in regard to this. I haven't started
using sockets on the masscomp yet, but I will shortly.

Sockets always seem to be hard to make work at first ... I've used
UDP/IP (unreliable datagram) sockets under 4.2 successfully on VAXen,
and used select() with no problem. Are you using streams, with the
client/server model?
