Does anybody know if Masscomp supports asyncronous I/O for sockets? If they do, could somebody please mail me a program fragment (or possibly post for the rest of the group? In particular, we are trying to do an ioctl() with FIOASYNC. We keep getting a 0 for the number of async requests that are allowed. Help please... --mike Mike Tankenson Jet Propulsion Laboratory Uucp: {sdcrdcf,ihnp4,bellcore}!psivax!mc0!mike Arpa: ...mc0!mike@cit-vax.ARPA

I haven't started using sockets on the masscomp yet, but I will shortly. Sockets always seem to be hard to make work at first ... I've used UDP/IP (unreliable datagram) sockets under 4.2 successfully on VAXen, and used select() with no problem. Are you using streams, with the client/server model? thanks strick -- -- henry strickland <strick@gatech.CSNET> or -- the clouds project { akgua allegra hplabs inhp4 } -- computer science / georgia tech !gatech!strick -- atlanta ga 30332 or !gatech!gt-stratus!strick
