[mod.computers.masscomp] alternative floppy for the MC500

tp@ndmce.UUCP@soma.UUCP (Terry Poot) (08/31/86)

Does anyone know of a less expensive third party source for a floppy drive
that will work with the DSD controller on an MC-500. I am not at all
interested in writing a driver, I am looking for a functional equivalent of
the one Masscomp sells.

Thanks

[mod -- Floppies generally use a standard interface. Theoretically, any
96tpi double-sided drive would work. The original vendor for masscomp
drives was Control Data. The half-height drives currently shipped are from
TEAC. You should be able to buy one from the vendors that take ads out in
most computer mags. -- sob]
