Although Hayes modems are officially unsupported by Masscomp, it is possible
to use them with uucp. Put the dialing commands in the chat script. Here's
a example entry for the L.sys file:
hostname Any cul0 1200 cul0 "" AT OK ATDP5551212 CONNECT "" ogin:-@-ogin:-EOT-ogin:-BREAK-ogin: uucp word: ________
The script says
1. expect nothing (""), then transmit AT
2. expect OK, transmit the phone number -- if using a touch tone line
substitute "T" for "P"
3. expect CONNECT, send nothing (by default uucp tacks on a carriage return,
which will start the login sequence)
4. expect the login prompt, send the login name, i.e. uucp
5. expect the password prompt, send whatever the password actually is (remove
this part if uucp can login without a password)

[moderator's note: The Hayes modem will work as an ACU in RTU 3.1 I am
told, but it is still unsupported. -- sob]
