I've tried to use the read timeout feature of the AT&T tty interface and have failed so far. I've kludged around it, but would really like to use timeouts. The symptom is that the read never seems to timeout. I've used this mechanism on Unisoft sysV unix so I think I know what I'm doing. :) We're running RTU3.0 [Regular or 3.0A or 3.0B? -- sob]. [Does this problems occur with the HPSM, jmux and the CPU ports? I know that on the HPSM reads sometimes screw up when some event is triggered by a signal (see release notes for RTHPSM Version 2.0) -- sob ] If anyone has a working example, I'd sure like to see it. Another oddity is that I have to set the EOF & EOL chars in the c_cc array for the nonblocking read mode (ala fcntl) to work.
