Has anyone had experience with appliactions running under wi, the Masscomp window interface? We've been informed that it causes the system time-of-day counter to miss clock tick interrupts, resulting in losses of minutes per day. -Jim. gonzalez@vax.bbn.com

We've used wi but haven't checked for time-of-day losses. We have, however, found other problems with wi. Conditions that we've been unable to define so far cause wi to hang grpahics processors and leave porcesses described as <exiting> by the ps command output which can't be killed with Unix signals. Usually this means you have to reboot. Comments? -LJT trejo@nprdc

We had noticed that exiting wi would occasionally result in the last window to remain on the screen, and the related process (checked via root on a TTY line) would be in a permamnent wait state. Never saw the graphics processor hang, although the above scenario leaves the GPC unavailable. -Jim. gonzalez@vax.bbn.com
