[net.sources.d] More on Zimmerman Emacs

Here is a tiny mail note by Zimmerman about the distribution
of this very emacs (that I intend to post..)

CCA now supports anonymous FTP login. As a result, exportable EMACS sources
will now all be kept on the CCA VAX, instead of one set here and one set
out at UTAH-20. This new arrangement has advantages for everyone; it
makes it easier for me to keep sources up to date, since I need to only
do a "cp" instead of FTPing numerous files, and it makes things easier
for other people because it is now possible to do a "multiple get" with
FTP and have the file names all come out lower case on your end.

To use this feature, you connect with FTP, login with user name "anonymous",
and enter anything for a password. This logs you in as the Unix user
"anon" with home directory /u3/anon. ("Anonymous" has nine letters, which
is one too many for a Unix user name.) Under this home directory is a
directory "emacs" with subdirectories "src" and "lib"; these are the source
and library directories, which correspond on the CCA VAX to /usr/src/cmd/emacs
and /usr/lib/emacs.

People who connect to us via uucp should also get EMACS from these directories,
as they are guaranteed to contain a consistent, exportable version of EMACS,
while the main system directories may contain an EMACS under development.
