[net.sources.d] binhex sources for ms-dos or unix?

emv@umix.UUCP (Edward Vielmetti) (08/02/86)

I'd not be surprised if it's been posted before, so pardon the query;
I'm seeking sources for a program to handle the BinHex 4.0 files
produced by the Macintosh in a ms-dos or unix environment. If there's
someone there writing one now, I'm interested. At this point, what
the use for it isn't fully certain, but several applications come
to mind:

file transfer between mac & pc of MS Word files (the Mac end has a
conversion routine that goes between the two);

MacPaint grabbing from public places, then running through conversion
programs on the PC end (already available) to look at the things;

generally a desire to have files and file formats portable between
machines.
