[net.sources.d] Netiquette and compressed postings

dupuy@amsterdam.columbia.edu (Alexander Dupuy) (09/04/86)

If everyone is in agreement that posting of compressed/uuencoded text (not
binary) files is to be shunned, perhaps someone could add wording to that
effect in the new Netiquette document recently posted to net.news. The recent
cases seem to have been caused by well-intentioned novices, the primary targets
of the "emily post" document (since ill-intentioned posters presumably don't
care).
