<my favourite line-eater> Okay, I have the blurb on the memory boards for ATARI 800: 256K: $149 512K: $199 1Meg: $349 To make this useful, you will also need a special version of TOP-DOS. These are available thru: Gordon Andersen 3042 Millar Ave. Santa Clara CA 95051 Tel. (408)-247-4794 Comments: The 512K Board: The board I have definately looks like it came out of someone's garage, but it does work well. I am very pleased with it. Apparently it conforms to the AXLON format for bank-switching, but I haven't had a chance to confirm this, as I am not exactly sure where & thru what memory locations it does its bank selection. One problem that I did have was with my memory boards. I had an early 800, with 1 16K board and a 32K RAMCRAM. It will not work with the RAMCRAM, cuz the RAMCRAM has to be in the first slot for a 32K machine, and in the second slot, behind a 16K board for a 48K machine. The 512K board has to be in the second slot, with a 16K board in front and behind. The Version of TOP-DOS: TOP-DOS has always been one of my favourite DOS's in spite of consuming more memory than usual. I have an early version which only allows me to set up a double density ramdisk of 1955 sectors. The version you will get enables the memory to be set up as any ombination of different ramdisks. It includes many other features, the most useful of which is to be able to move the RAMDISK to drive 1, where it then intercepts any calls to the real D1:. This is real handy.
