I typed in the home-made translator program that was in the July 85 copy of Analog, ran it and it created an autorun.sys file. BUT when I try to boot the disk with a 800xl - nothing just two beeps and death I have dos2.5 on the disk with the autorun file and I do not have dup.sys on the disk. I looked through the issues of Analog after July and didn't find any mention of errors. Has anyone got the program to work that could tell me what I might be doing wrong? thanks in advance... gary skinner

If I recall correctly, you must run that translator program on an 800 (NOT an 800XL) to create the autorun.sys file. So, if you have access to an 800, you'll be all set. Ken Jordan
