Howdy all, i'm kind of new to the net, so please excuse various and sundry stupidities on my part. Anyway, I've been trying to get my two 800xl's to talk between the joystick ports through some simple connectors that i soldered up. The problem i'm having is that it seems i can only reliably ground (i.e., send to zero) one line at a time. Grounding two lines works, but is flaky; three lines, no way. However, if i send the info to the same computer, all 4 lines can be grounded. Has anyone else experienced this? I have a feeling that this has something to do with voltages and that there is zilch i can do about it. Has anyone succeeded at inter-800 communication? mahlen morris (mahlen@brahms) at Berkeley (what should this message be)?
