I'm working on a music editor written in Action!, and I'm having a little trouble at getting the full frequency range out of POKEY. For individual notes, there's no problem. All I have to do is clock the audio channels at the high rate (1.78 megahertz?) for the high notes, and the low rate (64 kilohertz?) for the low ones. One of the bits in AUDCTL takes care of this. The problem comes when I want to play a low note and a high note simultaneously. Since there's only one clock for all of the audio channels, it seems that you can't do this. Yet AMS II from the now defunct APEX collection appears to handle this just fine with all four voices. Does anyone know how the author did it? I suppose I could disassemble it and figuire it out what he did, but maybe somebody can save me from this fate. I hope he didn't resort to volume only sound... As they say, thanks in advance...
