I received the 2/13/86 version of VIP the other day and wanted to
let you all know that all of the problems I was having are fixed.
This includes printer problems (missing text), file extract/combine
system 2 errors, column/row insert/delete mushrooms, CALC system 2
errors, etc. In fact, my whole spreadsheet works without a hitch!
I'm not implying that ALL of the bugs are gone (that would take
all the fun out of it :-) ), but all of the stuff I use seems fine.
To get this update, call VIP at (805)685-3948 and arrange to send your disk in.
The update was free and just took a few days of turn around.
I wouldn't recommend sending your disk in until you've called them first.
Be sure to keep your backup of the old version if you have worksheets
you want to use with the updated version. A flyer was included
with my update saying that the new version may have trouble loading
worksheets created with older versions (how old, I don't know).
In this situation, you would
need the old version to look at your worksheets, jot down or screen
dump whatever you need to TYPE :-( into the
worksheet with the new version. The key on the new disk will still
work with your backup of the old disk. By the way, all of my worksheets
generated with the old 12/18/85 program loaded fine with the new version.
