We received 6 1040ST's here at Aurora and At least two of them developed problems with the internal floppy disk drive. After a while the disk has trouble accessing the disk and makes awful whining/grinding noises. I solved this on one machine by changing the resonant frequency of the head assembly which seemed to be oscillating something fierce. So far I have done this by tacking a wad of masking tape on the head. Obviously this is temporary. My question is: Has anyone experienced and possibly solved this in some cute/easy way? I like the machine and would rather not send it back for something seemingly easy to fix. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erik James Freed Aurora Systems San Francisco, CA {dual, ptsfa}!aum!freed
