I thought these were good questions, the answers to which would be of general interest. 1) All messages are in the archives. In addition, some contributed programs are also there. The archives are in [SU-SCORE]<info-atari>. 2) The archives are stored in TOPS-20 message format (MM is the mail handler used). After you have obtained a copy (see 3) below) your mailer may be able to read these files. Probably not! I would suggest using an editor to search for "Subject:" or whatever you are interested in. 3) If you are on ARPANET or MILNET you can FTP from the archive. I don't know how you can get the files otherwise. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Te files are too big to mail; at least some mailers reject some of the files. In general, the internet mail forwarders tend to reject very large files. Also, and I don't mean to even appear unfriendly, the moderators just don't have the time to respond to special requests. Be be honest, I sort of regret volunteering to moderate this list. Even though I've gotten help, it takes more time than I have and introduces a certain level of frustration that I don't need. I'm not quiting (yet), but I don't see any way to help you if you can't FTP. - Marshall Abrams --------------- Return-Path: <JEB6589%RITVAXC.BITNET@WISCVM.WISC.EDU> Received: from WISCVM.WISC.EDU by SU-SCORE.ARPA with TCP; Fri 14 Mar 86 08:33:07-PST Received: from (JEB6589)RITVAXC.BITNET by WISCVM.WISC.EDU on 03/14/86 at 10:36:06 CST Date: 14 MAR 86 11:07-EST From: JEB6589%RITVAXC.BITNET@WISCVM.WISC.EDU To: INFO-ATARI-REQUEST@SU-SCORE.ARPA Subject: Archives As I am new to this list, I am wondering if you can explain something to me. 1) Are all the messages that come across the net in the Archives? 2) How do I find out what the subjects of these are so I can determine if I want to read any of them? 3) How to I get the messages/programs from the archieves when I have determined which I want? Thank you for you time. Jim Berg -------
