[net.micro.atari16] ST char screen I/O query!?!

uh@unido.UUCP (03/21/86)

Anybody in net-land who can help me?

I'm searching the screen memory of the ST or a pointer to it when the
ST is in command mode (COMMAND.TOS) or it is in a TOS application.
I want to do direct character
screen I/O like you can do on the IBM-PC, that means
I want to write directly into the character screen memory. I know that you
can do this in the pixel memory, as there are several hints mentioned in
the developers kit documentation, but there is no word about a
character buffer. Any hints are welcome. Please send e-mail to

I don't know of any character buffer, but if you want to write raw
characters to the screen (ie. so that the emulator does not intercept
them) you can write to Device 5 using something like Bconout .
Hope tht helps.
