For professional use, we have developped an Atari ST Tektronix (tm) "ASTEK" emulator with the following features: - to be used with monochrome system only, - offers choice and settings by menus and dialog boxes, mapping of graphic space: 1024x780 -> 512x390, full emulation of 4010-4012, emulation of 4014 vector mode, interprets some sequences of 4105 format: line attributs, marker type, fill area style. Dynamic drawing is possible without refreshing the entire screen. - enables graphical input with mouse and keyboard, - offers choice for local character size (between the three system fonts), - presents text in one or two-columns mode (without scrolling) in Tek mode, Save of graphical screen (now in Degas format) on disk file for later local enhancement and hard-copy. - return to alphanumeric (VT52) mode with vertical scrolling at any time, - break signal capability.... The first version of ASTEK was presented on the Atari Software Show in Paris (18 march 1986) and a copy was given to Atari Corp via Atari-France to be evaluated. Many professionals have showed interest in this product. Therefore, we plane to distribute it with charge (ranging $100-$150) should Atari Corp. decide not to act as distributor.
