[net.micro.atari16] 1040 rf output

QBZJ@CORNELLA.BITNET (04/29/86)

The recent letter from neil @ atari confuses me somewhat. He says
that 1040's will not be refit [Dted with rf modulators and that it was
not atari's intent to confound the dealer who reported this. Does
neil @ atari meen [D[D[Dan that 1040's will not support rf output ever? If
this is the case then someone should get in touch with the advertising
people who composed that beautiful two page add in the June issue of Byte
which says that the 1040 can be connected directly to a colour TV. So
what is the scoop guys? Will the 1040 come with an rf modulator or not?

Of course one can always buy a TV modulator and feed it with the composite
output that someone just mentioned in a previous note (or was that only on the
520ST?).

If no composite output is available, it can be cooked up from RGB with an
NTSC modulator chip as noted in an earlier message from me.
