[net.micro.atari16] this conference

kegel@JULIET.CALTECH.EDU (Dan R. Kegel) (05/13/86)

This conference suffers from (1) entries getting submitted in duplicate
or triplicate, sometimes over a period of three weeks; (2) excessive
quoting of previous messages in letters that really don't add much; and
(3) too goddamned many header lines in each message; that "fix your mailer"
line is especially redundant.
The conference info-ibmpc suffers from none of these, probably because it
has a moderator (the job rotates weekly, I believe).
Short of getting a moderator, the best thing that could happen would be for
info-atari16 to get filtered through a program that filtered out old
or empty messages BEFORE they are sent out to us listeners.
--> Do such programs already exist?
