[net.micro.atari16] Followup to ST Power Supply Problems

Well, the simple solution was to order a replacement power supply,
which is only $40CDN.

I opened up my old power supply to take a look at the problem, and I
was *not* impressed. About 2/5 of the supply consists of a large
transformer in a sea of wax. The main PC board was held into place
by a foam rubber "stopper". The problem -- two of the large diodes
(part of a bridge rectifier) had exploded, leaving diode bits and
a blackened PC board. I was very lucky it didn't take the ST with it...

I have a feeling quality control consists of "plug it in, if it works, ship it".

Those of you with the old style power supplies might do well to
buy one of the newer supplies (disclaimer -- I haven't been inside
one of the new ones -- it might be just as bad), since they're only
a small fraction of the price of your ST system.
