[net.micro.atari16] Ethernet for 68k machines

sjc@purdue.UUCP (Steve J Chapin) (06/26/86)

I'm interested in information about Ethernet boards for 68k based
computers. The possibilities under consideration include a
68k based single-board computer with a VME (or some other 'standard')
bus, an Ethernet connection for an Atari 520ST, or a connection for
a Mac.

So, netters, I'd like to know if any of you have a) hooked up your
ST to ethernet; b) hooked up your Mac to ethernet (as an aside, does
the Mac+ have any kind of a standard bus?); c) hookup up a single-board
68k computer to ethernet.

If either b) or c) have a standard bus, we have a source for the
ethernet boards. So, I'm interested in cheap (< $1k) 68k boards.
Since Atari ST's are about $800, if there are boards available
that would be nice too.

Please send email to one of the addresses below...I'll summarize
to the net if there seems to be much interest.

Thanks in advance,

sc
